“We have had a very strong year for 2004, with fleet sales expected to represent about 47 percent of GM´s overall sales in the region. We believe this event will be the catalyst to our ongoing success in 2005,” commented Muneer Alhasan, regional fleet sales manager, General Motors Middle East. “GM will use this event to show our existing and potential customers just how GM can provide solutions and support to their fleet needs.”
Underlining GM´s commitment to implementing excellent service, Alhasan unveiled a number of new fleet solutions as part of the company´s ongoing drive to provide Fleet Excellence across the region.
“We are recruiting a new team of fleet sales managers, based in our core regional markets to strengthen and enhance the loop between GM and its retailers, our retailers and fleet customers and fleet customers and GM,” said Alhasan. “This loop will allow for communications in all directions so that information can be communicated faster and more efficiently.”
General Motors sign a number of major deals with fleet customers around the region in 2004. Many of the region´s police forces have purchased General Motors vehicles for their fleets. Deals have been signed recently to provide Chevrolet TrailBlazers to the police in Jordan and Chevrolet Luminas and Caprices to the police in Oman, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The Saudi General Security Forces fleet includes over 7,000 Chevrolet Luminas.
